Matt Skiba (born Matthew Thomas Skiba, in Chicago, Illinois on February 24, 1976) ) is an American musician. At an early age he began playing the piano and drums and went on to form the band Alkaline Trio in 1996. In 2001 Matt did his first full solo tour with The Plea For Peace Tour. In 2002 was his first solo release, followed by performing five shows with Chuck Ragan of Hot Water Music in 2007. His second full length solo album, Babylon, was released in May 2012.
Renowned US actor Richard Roundtree, celebrated for his iconic portrayal of detective John Shaft in the Shaft film franchise, has died at the age of 81.
His passing occurred at his Los Angeles home on a Tuesday afternoon, following a brief battle with pancreatic cancer, as confirmed by his manager, Patrick McMinn, to The Hollywood Reporter.
Roundtree’s influence on the film industry is considered a pivotal moment for African American leading men.
